What To Do When You Feel You’ve “Missed Your Boat”

When you go into an audition, share your vulnerability, give it everything you’ve got + don’t get the part, it can be disappointing

When you put your heart and soul into it + think that one audition is the key to the kingdom and you don’t get it, it can be devastating.

You may think, “That was my big shot. I missed my boat. That was gonna change everything.”

And then what happens? When we are faced with this kind of rejection over and over, our ego focuses too critically on all the ways we have lost. Judging ourselves as wrong, or bad, or not good enough, which can leave us feeling disappointed, dejected and sometimes hopeless.

Your ego may try to convince you that you need to change something or fix something about you to be more “right” the next time (and it’s not to say we can’t learn from each experience, because there is always space for that), but best-selling author + psychologist Dr. Robert Holden says…

So the real learning, in order to release rejection and let go of disappointment, comes from (more…)

How To Invite In Unlimited Prosperity

Happy Spring!  I love this time of year.  I spent all day yesterday, in the garden planting succulents.

And I got to thinking about what makes a succulent life + how to enjoying real prosperity in all areas.

At the root (no “planting pun intended”) of inviting in unlimited prosperity in all areas of our lives, is giving ourselves permission to be prosperous.  We must feel that it’s not only okay to have wealth, success, fulfillment + joy, but that it’s our birthright, no matter what we were taught growing up.

We must understand at a deep level, that our desire for a prosperous life, won’t somehow take anything away from anyone else.

The key, though, is not waiting for prosperity to arrive at your doorstep, in order to feel prosperous.  When you find ways to feel prosperous now, without even needing to see evidence of it, you will shift your experience.  The more prosperous you can feel, the more expectant you become, and the more your experience begins to match it.

Yes.  What we think, we create. What we feel, we attract. What we imagine, we become.

Scientific research reveals that the subconscious mind accepts  (more…)

The 2 Biggest Factors That Keep You From Your Dreams

The two biggest factors that keep you from your dreams might actually surprise you.

They are…needing + wanting.

The definitions of want + need actually imply a lack of something deemed necessary, and are at the opposite energetic spectrum of feeling fulfilled + satisfied.

So, it might be time to take a closer look at what you are “needing + wanting” and ask yourself “Why does this matter so much to me?”

If you want to get somewhere in your career because you need it to define:

  • your value
  • your worth
  • your importance
  • or that you “really matter…”

Then what you want will continue to elude you.  Why?

This kind of thinking actually puts you in a state of lack – needing some outer circumstance to give you the abundance you seek.

The reality is that it actually works the other way around.

Best selling author Abraham-Hicks states it so simply + yet profoundly with these seven words…..

Until It Doesn't Matter
Did you really get that? Until it doesn’t matter, it can’t be.

So in order to acquire anything in the physical world, (more…)

The Real Cause of Your Frustration (And How to Find Relief)

We all do it.

When we are frustrated with our acting careers, we want find someone or something to blame.

So, you tend to blame…

  • Your representation
  • Your lack of auditions
  • Your lack of callbacks
  • Your age
  • Your credits
  • Your ethnicity
  • Your weight/looks
  • Your connections
  • Your mate/spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend
  • The casting director who didn’t smile when she/he called your name
  • The execs who didn’t look up when you walked into the room
  • The girl/guy who went in before you that books everything
  • The reader
  • The traffic
  • The weather
