The Hardest Part Of Manifesting What You Want

I have found that the hardest part of manifesting is learning to let go of my attachment to the result.

As a recovering type-A doer, my biggest frustration has been after I’ve done all the visualizing, taken all the inspired actions, committed to the daily work, and things aren’t manifesting on the exact timeline I want.

I’ve come to realize that underneath all the frustration, is usually a massive attachment to how I think it all should go. (And how I need these desired results, now!) Can you relate?

So often, when I really surrender, the Universe surprises me with something even better than I could have ever planned.

So if you’re thinking about what else you can do to create what you want, it just might be time to let go of when, how and where you think it will show up.

When I find myself over-checking for a result, I always come back to this daily mantra: I trust that the Universe has heard my every wish and knows the time, the place and how it will all unfold.

To Manifest Anything: Do This First

To manifest anything in your life, whether it is a relationship, a thing, an experience, or even a next level role, you must do this one thing first:

You must be able to imagine it.

Look around you right now.

Everything you see (even the phone or the computer that you are reading this on) first began as an idea in someone’s imagination.

They didn’t just think about it once and forget it. They gave their devoted attention to bringing their vision to life.

And it all began with the imagination – (hint: this is the actors’ greatest tool!)

Yet sometimes we can create a character more easily than we can create our own success.

But here’s the good news:

Your imagination is able to do all that you ask in proportion to the degree of your attention.” – Dr. Wayne Dyer.

Why You Must Visualize What You Want

Do you take time daily to visualize what you want, so you can design your life from the inside out?

Or do you spend your days simply reacting to what happens?

Remember, that you are the creator of your life and the source of your happiness.

To manifest anything in the physical world, it is first created, in the mind.

One Secret To Booking More Work

I’m keeping it short + sweet today, as I’m about to head to San Jose for my first ever Tony Robbins Live Event! Woohoo!

Yep, I’m gonna be walking on coals, dancing in the aisles, and gathering more inspiration + insights to share with you all!

It’s something I’ve wanted to do for years, but never made the time.

I booked the tickets months ago (yep, to leave smack in the middle of pilot season), and even invited my best gal pal to join me.

Not only did I end up booking a great top-of-show-recurring-guest-star gig…but I was able to shoot 2 episodes in the last 2 weeks and just found out that I have this coming week OFF!

I spoke up and gave the production office my out-of-town dates, but also told them I was willing to move things around a bit, if need be.

(Secretly, I was hoping I didn’t have to cancel on Tony Robbins.)

I kept holding the vision of my friend and I in San Jose, while also feeling immense gratitude for this wonderful job.

And, well, it all worked out.

So, what’s on your joy + fun list these days?

Is there something you are putting off because you don’t want to miss out on an acting opportunity?

How You Can Start Loving It All (Even If You Have The Post-Oscar Blues)

Did you watch the Oscars last night? No matter how it left you feeling, I’m hoping today’s post will uplift you.

Last night, my husband + I were invited to a black tie Oscar viewing party at The Hollywood Museum + I had the dream of wearing a gown from an amazing designer who creates handmade works of art.

Follow me here on instagram to see the pics.

And this morning, I’m back on the set, shooting another episode of a wonderful TV show I worked on last week + am feeling so grateful to do what I love, while also inspiring other actors along the way.

I want you to know that just 4 weeks ago, after having some great auditions and not really booking anything, I was feeling pretty down about how 2018 was going.

I wanted to feel better, but there were days, where I just couldn’t get out of my own funk + lift myself up. Can you relate?
Well, it got me thinking….

It seems we search for ways to feel good, and often run in fear of feeling anything less than what we deem as “positive emotions.”

But what if feeling all emotions were positive?unnamed
What if every emotion you feel throughout your day was here to awaken you?

And what if you could start loving it all?

We often spend our time judging, criticizing + labeling ourselves + our emotions + then adding to the story of what it all means.
What if, throughout your day, whatever thought or emotion was getting your attention, you could simply (more…)

Where To Focus When Nothing Is Going On…..

When there are slow patches in your career, do you go down the dark rabbit hole of worry + self-doubt?

Do you start obsessing about how you did on your last audition or wondering if you’ll ever get another one?

I know. I’ve been there.

But, when you shift your focus from what is not working to what’s going right in your life, things will begin to shift in your favor.

This year started off kinda quiet for me (well, except all of my free trainings for actors!), and it would have been easy for me to start ranting + raving….

“What are my reps doing?”
“Where are my auditions?”
“What am I missing out on?”

But asking myself those questions only produces answers (and feelings) rooted in lack and fear.

So instead, I focused all of my energy on helping other actors (like you) succeed, while getting into a mental head-space of radical appreciation for what was working in my life.

Why would this matter?

Within the next week, I ended up getting 3 amazing auditions, including a request to read for a different role on a project I had already been in for late last year.

(Something I didn’t even know would come back around, and could have easily spent a lot of wasted time examining what I might have not done “right” at that initial audition.)

And then, a wonderful booking came in (which I can’t give details about yet) and an invitation to attend a red carpet Oscar party.

And all from shifting my focus + how it made me feel when nothing was going on. That’s it.

Sounds simple, right? It Is, but many actors choose to take the struggling route of complaining + blaming + then berating themselves. Then they spend their days busying themselves with “doing more” from this space of lack.

What they don’t realize, is that it’s hamster wheel that just produces more of the same.

So, what if, no matter how things look right now, you told yourself this:

Instead of spending anytime criticizing or berating myself today,

I marvel at all I’ve done + who I’ve become along the way.

Start Your Day In This Way + Set Yourself Up For Success

If you feel like you’re going a mile a minute lately, it might be time to slow down.

What if what you really needed was not to ‘do more’ or ‘try harder’, but rather thank yourself for all you’ve done so far?

We swipe, scroll + search. But for what? What if all you needed in this moment is right here in front of you?

For me, this month is all about simplification + appreciation.

I’m even on a mission to simplify my weekly Morning Mindset emails for you!

Since everything you tell yourself is an affirmation (whether it’s good or bad), today, I’d like to help you slow down + affirm what is working.

Starting your day in a state of appreciation will help you set yourself up for success.

Why?

unnamed
Here are some Mindset Mantras to help you get there. Breathe deeply + declare the following to yourself silently or out loud…

Today, I practice radical appreciation.

As I think, I create. As I feel, I attract. As I imagine, I become.

Today, I use my power of focus to think, feel + imagine what I want,
and clear my mind of anything that no longer serves me.

Instead of spending anytime criticizing or berating myself today,
I marvel at all I’ve done + who I’ve become along the way.

I express unconditional love for my home, myself, my family,
my friends + my business relationships.

Today, I practice radical appreciation.

Want to dive even deeper + make it a daily practice?

Actors are enjoying profound shifts just from listening to my latest guided meditation, Radical Appreciation, which you can download for free here.

Here’s to a week of starting each day from a state of appreciation.

Leave a comment here on the blog + let me know what you are affirming this week.

Love + Gratitude,

– Wendy

My brand-new audio “Radical Appreciation” is totally free this month, with a 30 day free trial to my Spotlight Club.

One actress said after listening just once, “ I felt myself bursting with love and had tears in my eyes by the end!

A Simple Method For Getting Unstuck

You might not want to hear it, but complaining is a chronic habit that ultimately keeps you stuck.

Have you ever tried to go through your entire day + not make one complaint? It’s not easy, right?

You might not even be aware of how often you complain, because it’s become so habitual. For many of us, complaining has become our standard mode of operation.

We complain the audition is taking too long.
We complain about the traffic.
We complain about the line at the grocery store.

Then we get together with our friends and when they start to complain, we chime in easily + add to it, until everyone is bonding over a big-warm-complaint-bonfire. (And I can’t say I haven’t been there. I have.)

So, here’s one simple way to get unstuck.

Become mindful of how often you complain + stop yourself in your tracks.

In fact, this is my SPECIAL INVITATION to have you join me in making November a complaint free month.

How do you do it?

The Daily Practice That Will Make You More Productive

If looping thoughts tend to run your day, and you often feel overwhelmed or overworked, you’re not alone.

I just got back from a family vacation + found myself feeling this way the very next day!

When resistance shows up like this, keep in mind that it’s really just your ego trying to run the show, figure it all out ahead of time and keep you mentally busy.

So what’s a multi-tasking actor to do?

It’s at moments like this, when getting still will actually help you become more productive.

It almost seems illogical to stop what you’re doing, especially if your to-do-list is a mile long (like mine often is).

But, I’ve been amazed at the solutions, creativity + miracles that begin to appear when you take a break, quiet the mind + let go of how you think it all should go.

unnamed
Yes, believe it or not, as you make finding stillness a daily practice: Solutions will appear. Creativity will soar. Miracles will happen.

As you find stillness, you’ll begin to feel the layers of physical, mental and emotional resistance peel away + dissolve.

Post-Emmy Funk? 11 Mindset Mantras To Improve Your Mood

If you watched the Emmys on Sunday night, and it left you feeling inspired + hopeful for the possibilities ahead for you, that’s awesome.

But if you turned off the TV and went to bed wondering…

  • Will it ever happen for me?
  • What do I do to get to where I want to go?
  • How will I ever achieve my biggest acting dreams?

Here’s what you need to know today:

-59

The only way to get to where you want to go, is to first make peace with where you are.

So, if you woke up today feeling blue about your career, guess what? You simply added meaning to an event.

You watched an awards show (an event) and made the fact that you aren’t there indicate that you have somehow failed as an actor (meaning you added).  And now you feel horrible.  (current outcome)

Here’s what that math would look like on a chalk board: (more…)
