I love my page-a-day flip calendar by Louise Hay.
I keep it on my desk + am often inspired daily by her wise words.
Here is her beautiful affirmation for today, as you begin your week:
Can you say that to yourself + mean it? “I now deserve love, romance + joy – and all the good that Life has to offer me.”
Do you feel that way, deep down in your soul? I hope so.
Lately, I’ve been buying myself fresh flowers for my office every week.
It was something I said I would do “one day,” when I was successful.
It was that thing (on my list of luxuries) that I didn’t often allow myself to have, even after enjoying years of success.
What was I waiting for? An Academy Award?
When was I going to consider myself “successful” enough to have fresh flowers?
I decided the time was now to upgrade my environment + that indeed, I am deserving of fresh flowers every…single…week.
Here they are in all their glory:
Why do we postpone our own deservingness (and joy) for “some day?”
Notice Louise says, “I now deserve….all the good that Life has to offer me.”
Notice the affirmation didn’t say,
“When I book a job, I am deserving.”
“When I book 3 jobs, I am deserving.”
“When I have a mate, I am deserving.”
“When I make 6 figures, I am deserving.”
“When I buy a home, I am deserving.”
I’m all for celebrating victories (and putting money away for a rainy day), but I also realize the importance of celebrating yourself – RIGHT NOW!
I don’t break the bank buying these for myself each week.
In fact, the joy I find in choosing them, cutting them, making these arrangements and then having them on my desk is a gift I give to myself that keeps on giving.
These flowers actually serve as a loving reminder to myself each day that
I am deserving.
I am abundant.
I am evolving.
I am creative.
I am beautiful.
My life is unfolding in perfect, divine order.
(In case you want to adopt these as your own….I made a graphic for you)
Notice how flowers don’t “try” to bloom. They don’t feel the need to “earn” their right to blossom.
They lean to the light and allow themselves to go with the flow of nature.
Sounds like they are here to teach us.
Is there something you could upgrade in your environment that you keep postponing?
Maybe it’s…
- Buying a beautiful journal + pen.
- Having nice stationery to write hand-writen thank you notes (a lost art in the tech-age).
- Finding an inspiring piece of art to hang on the wall.
Sometimes upgrading our deservability, means clearing out all the reminders that keep us stuck.
Maybe it’s time to…
- Get rid of old headshots (and all the thoughts about why you didn’t use more of them.)
- Finally make space on your desk to do creative work you’ve been putting off.
- Or simply look around + let go of things that no longer bring you joy.
When you make an upgrade to your environment + begin celebrating yourself exactly where you are right now, you’ll find your deservability will naturally raise.
You really are deserving of all the good Life has to offer.
Once you know this on the inside, you’ll be amazed at what starts to appear on the “outside,”
Here’s to a deserving + abundant week ahead!
I’d love to hear how you are going to upgrade your environment.

Love + Gratitude,
