I’ve been practicing daily gratitude this month, and not only do I feel better, but it’s definitely opened up a doorway for more good things to come to me easily + effortlessly.
I invite you to do the same, beginning right now.
The key for me has been not doing so to “make something happen,” but instead because it simply feels good to focus on the good.
And the extra benefit is that I’m also training my brain to criticize less, find fault less + complain less.
And what has been happening? I’ve had new bookings, been invited to be a podcast guest on one of my favorite shows, and last week, I became a GIF!
If you haven’t heard, I’m back for Season 3 of Atypical, which I’m thrilled report, was the #1 binge-watched show on Netflix last week. (Our show beat “Friends,” which took 2nd place).
This role (that started out as a few short scenes in Season 1), has now turned into a three season recurring role, with multiple episodes, fun story lines, and lots of matching sweater sets. (Can you tell I love playing the uptight but well-intentioned, Kathy, always going head-to-head with Jennifer Jason Leigh?)
I couldn’t be more grateful to be part of a show that promotes inclusion, spreads autism awareness, and is filled with laughs, love + compassion.
It was a full circle moment, when I read the tagline for the show this year…”The journey to success is atypical.”
Isn’t that the truth!? At least, it has been for me.
In fact, it’s been embracing my “atypical” journey that has lead me to this very moment (becoming a GIF and connecting with you).
And I wouldn’t change it for the world.
I wanted a full life + in practicing daily gratitude, I remind myself that “a full life” is exactly what I am living:
A life that includes a thriving acting career, marriage, motherhood and also fulfilling my passion of uplifting + inspiring other actors all over the world.

What I also want you to know today is how I spent so much time in my early 20’s and 30’s wishing things were different. Wishing I had a boyfriend, wishing I booked a pilot, wishing I was anywhere other than where I was.
It created a lot of anxiety, stress, worry, fear + doubt.
What I’ve learned along the way, is how we miss so many moments by wishing they were different + we actually block our own future success.
So I invite you to being again today, no matter what you’ve booked (or not), who you’re dating (or not), how it’s all going for you (or not)…
Remind yourself that all of your power is in this very moment.
This is the only moment you have, and today you get to choose how you’re going to use it, where you’re going to focus + how you want to feel.
Are you going to fill this moment with thoughts that empower you?
Are you going to spend this moment wishing it were different while criticizing yourself for “not being further along.”
I hope you take the high road today, letting go of fear + choosing again with love.
The more you can do that, the more you’ll align with your highest self.
And when a negative thought pops in your mind, you can ask yourself, is my highest self thinking this thought? And the answer will always be no.
Your highest self is adoring you, no matter what is or isn’t showing up today.
Your highest self knows what you want + is leading you down the path to receiving it.
Your highest self knows you can’t fail, and that even in those moments where you feel you could have done better, your higher self is leading you to a newer and brighter path.
So today, you can let go of any feelings that you should have done anything differently.
You are learning as you go, and as you tune to the energy of your highest self, you will feel nothing but appreciation and love for who you are.
