It’s easy to feel happy when you are enjoying the conditions of your life. You book the job, you lose the weight, you fall in love, you sign with an agent, you make more money, and you feel amazing, right?
What if you could feel amazing today without needing any single external condition to change?
What if you could feel you are amazing without the booking, without losing weight, without being in a relationship, without the agent, without the money, without all the stuff you want because you think you’ll feel better once you have it?
When how you feel about yourself isn’t based upon what is or isn’t showing up in your life, you are practicing unconditional love.
If you’ve been holding off loving yourself or feeling at peace because you’re not quite satisfied with the conditions of your life, then you are practicing conditional love.
The secret to finding true happiness + having everything you want (all those conditions you want to change) is to practice unconditional self-acceptance + self-love now. Right now. Today, In this moment.
Here are 5 tips for finding true happiness…right now.
1) Love yourself in this very moment.
When you commit to loving yourself without needing any conditions (or people) to change, you will begin to create a state of mind that is filled with inner peace, joy + happiness.
2) Be where you are without judgment.
Take a moment today, to just be where you are (especially if it’s not where you want to be) – without judgment, without criticism, without shame or blame. Easy to do. Easy not to do.
3) Allow all of your feelings to be heard.
Allow your feelings to be expressed and simply witness them without telling them to go away or change or stop bothering you. In time, as you stop pushing against these feelings, they will begin to soften.
Try using this mantra when painful feelings arise: I have feelings, but I am not my feelings.
4) Stop feeling bad about feeling bad.
When you stop defining who you are by how you are feeling on any given day + take a step back to simply allow painful feelings to move through you more easily, you will help yourself stop feeling bad about feeling bad. Once you do, you’ll gradually start feeling better.
5) Practice pure self- acceptance.
Since the external is always a mirror of the internal, more joyous experiences will begin to flow your way that align with the inner peace that comes from practicing pure self-acceptance for who you are at your core.
You’ll begin to realize, that who you are at your core….is amazing.
