I just got back from a great vacation in Puerto Vallarta with my family. Yes, in the middle of October! Between the water slides, the surf break right out front and the chocolate fondue fountain at dinner, everyone in the family had a blast. (Oh yeah, and catamaran rides were included!)
I remember years ago, in my single days, I was so focused on pursuing my career, that not only did I rarely take a vacation, I barely took a day off!
What I know now is that we all need a break. Not only is it good for your body, it refreshes your mind, your soul and your perspective.
So, as the holiday season approaches and your schedule gets busier – remember to sneak away for some alone time.
You don’t have to go all the way to Mexico, but maybe try taking a different path home, browse a bookstore instead of your phone, or just turn on your favorite music and dance around your living room.
Just know, that when you actually take a real break, no matter how big or small, you’ll be putting yourself in the receiving mode.
Not only will overwhelm fall away, but the Universe will rise to meet you and your new found joy in simply relaxing.
And guess what, you career will still be here when your self-imposed break is over.
What are you going to do to take a break this week? Leave a comment below + let me know.
Here’s to finding time to for yourself this week.

Wendy

Wendy,
Thank you for sharing your vacation pictures! Love ’em.
My break this week is clothes shopping with a very stylish friend. She knows how to put clothes together and I don’t! She’s also a great bargain hunter. I really dislike shopping for clothes and am looking forward to a couple of hours with her.
Nancy! That sounds like an awesome friend an awesome day! Good for you! Happy shopping! – Wendy
