So beyond grateful to be featured in FORBES, for my work on four seasons of Netflix’s hit series, Atypical, while also helping thousands of creatives all over the world thrive. To live my dreams while helping to empower you to do the same, has been my life’s mission.
The last 3 words my late father left on my answering machine back in 1997 were “Keep Going, Sunshine.”
To sit down with Forbes and share how I’ve been doing just that for decades amidst rejection, setbacks and obstacles (while helping so many others like you along the way) was a dream come true.

An excerpt from Forbes:
“Those three little words helped me navigate so many roadblocks, rejections, failures and heartbreaks on my journey without letting them define or defeat me,” she shares. “It ultimately means that when you come to what seems like a dead end, trust that it’s actually a divine detour. Pick yourself off, dust yourself off and get back in the game.”
When dealing with all the rejections Braun would ask herself, “are you really going to allow one opinion to forecast your fate or derail your dreams?” The answer was emphatically: no.
Eventually those rejections became the fuel that ignited a deeper fire within me. Looking back at all the disappointments I can now see how they strengthened my purpose, expanded my courage and deepened my resolve.

“If you really want to be a creative warrior, whether as an actor, artist or entrepreneur, you’re going to have to overcome obstacles without losing belief in yourself and your vision,” says Braun.

The road to success will be paved with challenges, but ultimately, It’s what you tell yourself in those moments that will shape your journey.

Wendy,
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You are one of the most kind and talented people going and I wanted to just say how much I enjoyed your article. It’s fabulous when great success happens to wonderful folks. How you juggle it all is mind-blowing. Keep it up!
Big hug,
jc
Thank you so much! Your kind words truly mean a lot. I’m grateful for the support and happy the article resonated with you. Sending a big hug right back! 💛
“In any business, focusing on giving rather than getting frees up your creativity, aligns you with your intuition and allows you to share your gifts.”
This line hit me in the best way. It reminded me to take a breath and release the pressure to prove or be liked. I don’t have to get something to be worthy—I’m here to give. And that shift connects me to my purpose. Giving feels grounded and certain. Asking can feel heavy and desperate. But when I’m giving, I know I’m offering my best. This is a powerful reframe.
Thanks Wendy!
YES Niki! So glad this served as a reminder! You already are worthy – now you get to serve and give and have fun along the way!
I learned how powerful it can be to state and clarify your vision,”
Just had an aha!
I was thinking to myself, “That reminder will be my go to when I AGAIN slip into doubts and feel like quitting.” And then I realized I’m setting myself up to slip into despair again. So I’ve changed my mindset…i’m in the midst of stating and clarifying my vision. I’m excited and looking forward to how it evolves and unfolds!
Thank you, Wendy for your inspiration!!
LOVE that this gave you an “aha moment” + help you shift your mindset. Way to state and clarify your vision! Go Sherry!
Thank you for this Wendy! I’ve wanted to give up recently because I’ve been submitting and get nothing. When you mentioned your Dad it brought tears to my eyes because I to have lost my Dad and every time he talked to me he asked if Hollywood called yet. I of course would say no Dad they haven’t and his response was.. “Don’t worry they will” Thank you for reminding me what is important and to keep this Chicago girl working harder
Well, from one Chicago gal to another….#KeepGoingSunshine.
“ KEEP GOING SUNSHINE “
Thank You Wendy??
YES! I hope you do!
“If you really want to be a creative warrior, whether as an actor, artist or entrepreneur, you’re going to have to overcome obstacles without losing belief in yourself and your vision[.]” Great! And so ‘You’! I needed to read that. Thanks WB! Cheers, Mick
